Your baby will change and grow so quickly, it's important to start capturing those gorgeous memories as early as possible.
James is a professional baby photographer, and working from his own studio in Manchester, offers one of the best newborn portrait services in the area. Years of experience have taught him that a little patience, creative posing and great timing combine to create timeless images of your new addition that you'll cherish forever.
New mums and dads are encouraged to discuss their ideas and requests beforehand, so that James can work with you to produce beautiful photos you'll want to show off to all your family and friends. Newborn Baby Photography

The ideal time to have baby's first professional portrait taken, is at around 7-10 days old. Nine months in the womb can often cause wrinkles and dry patches, but after around a week, baby's skin will be glowing, and they'll feel more relaxed and used to being in 'the outside world' - all ready for their close-up!
Newborn photography sessions usually involve a nude baby (don't worry, the studio will be nice and warm!), soft blankets and a loving family. Of course if you want to dress your baby in a particular outfit, or include a special toy, we can incorporate these too - it's your shoot and you should feel free to personalise it as you wish. Also, we know that baby's have their own schedule - often awake when you'd like them to sleep and vice versa! This isn't a problem for a newborn shoot - whether baby is awake or snoozing, these early photos shouldn't be missed and will be cherished forever. (There will be plenty of opportunities in the future to show the camera their best wide awake smile!)
This includes a baby portrait session (up to 1 hour) at the photography studio in Manchester and a spectacular HD viewing session of your professionally edited images.
'Grow with Me' Baby Photography
Your babies first year - let us capture those precious milestones
James Broome Photography offers a 'grow with me' package that offers great savings on our baby photography sessions and prints. The 'grow with me' sessions include three portrait sessions over the course of your babies first year and one 5x5" photograph from each presented in a luxury leather folio - the perfect way to capture your baby's milestones! These sessions are typically done at
- Session 1: 0-3 months (the sooner the better)
- Session 2: 4-7 months (when your baby is sitting unaided) and
- Session 3: 7-12 months (when your baby can stand unaided)
Sessions 1 & 2 are usually done in the studio and session 3 can be a lifestyle session at any local location of your choice and as always, each portrait can be personalised with your own props and ideas.
This includes three baby portrait sessions (upto one hour) and three 5x5" photographs inside a luxury leather folio!

A toddler shoot can be the most challenging type of baby photography, but also the most rewarding.
As you already know, toddlers like to get into anything and everything - they usually have a pretty short attention span, and certainly don't have time to stay still for long!
Capturing a perfect toddler portrait is an art form in itself - and one which James is very practiced in! Timing is crucial, and James has all the best equipment in terms of high speed digital cameras and the latest flash and lighting technology, but more importantly, he has the expertise to use it to it's full potential. Top quality tools, plus years of experience, combined with James's talent for directing and engaging with his energetic young subjects, will ensure your toddler portraits are high quality, creative images you'll be proud to share and cherish for years.
