It’s with great pleasure that I bring you the first glimpses of the new James Broome Photography studios in Swinton, Manchester.
Undertaking a HUGE task!
Just last year I took the ownership of a superb listed building in Swinton, just 10 mins from Manchester City Centre. It needed just a ‘little bit of TLC’ – or so I thought. Turned out it needed much more work than I thought, so myself and my team of builders got to work and ripped out pretty much everything that was inside – back to it’s shell. During the rip out we revealed dangerous electrics, rotten floor joists, epic damp and nearly 9 tonnes of Bird Poo!!!! That’s right, nearly 9 tonnes of bird excrement was waiting for us when we ripped down the 120 year old ceiling in preparation to install the third floor! Not the nicest of jobs but it needed to be done. Here are just a few picture of the work getting underway!
After what seemed like months of hard work (oh wait, it was months of hard work – about 6 to be precise), the new studio started to take shape and we could finally see the beginnings of our new space. The four 9m long steels weighing in at a measly 500kg each were man handled up the stairs, bolted together and lifted in place to take the joists for the new office floor. It was an epic day when the new stairs were installed and we could finally walk into the attic space where I now proudly sit and write this post.
The finished article…
We hope that you’ll agree that the finished article is pretty impressive. After a lot of hard work and attention to detail, we’re all moved in and declare the new home of James Broome Photography OPEN for business!
So when are you going to come and visit?
